Nexus Inclusion, an Irish tech start-up that is using artificial intelligence (AI) to make the internet more accessible to people with different abilities, has secured €2 million in funding from undisclosed private investors.

Founded by Kyran O’Mahoney, an entrepreneur born with limited vision, Nexus Inclusion combines knowledge of accessibility with the latest developments in generative AI to offer real-time solutions to people with disabilities.

“I founded Nexus Inclusion to change the world so no one is excluded because they are different,” O'Mahoney, who was born with 17 per cent vision, said.

“It is my firm belief that technology and, more importantly, the emergence of AI is the next thing to change the world for people excluded from digital products.”

Nexus Inclusion will launch just ahead of the European Accessibility Act due to come into force on 28 June. The act will require all businesses trading in Europe to have digitally accessible websites, apps and online products.
