O’Mahoney, a former business analyst at AIB and Ryanair, founded Nexus Inclusion in 2024 as an AI platform to make websites more accessible for people with disabilities.

The latest funding round, led by a cohort of private investors who did not wish to be disclosed, brings the total investment raised by the Dublin-based startup to €3.5 million.

It comes ahead of the launch of its new B2B digital accessibility platform on May 25 to help businesses comply with regulations such as the European Accessibility Act, which came into effect last June.

Nexus Inclusion previously raised €2 million ahead of its launch in May last year, a month before the EAA came into effect.

Barriers

The binding EU law sets mandatory minimum accessibility requirements for key everyday products and services. Its goal is to allow people with disabilities to independently access technology, transportation and commerce across the EU.

The platform helps organisations identify and resolve accessibility barriers by analysing websites, images and videos to provide practical guidance and actionable fixes to improve compliance and usability for individuals with disabilities.

This includes neurodivergent people and people with a range of comprehension levels.

“Most digital accessibility software can scan and identify issues. The difficult part is fixing the problem,” O’Mahoney, the startup’s chief executive, who is also vision-impaired, said.
