FAQs: Mobile App Accessibility Audits
Answers about platforms, testing coverage, release planning and support.
Start with a key journey, a new feature or a broader review of your app. We tailor the audit around the tasks people need to complete, such as signing in, booking a service or navigating a checkout.
Before giving you a quote, we agree the iOS and Android coverage, app builds, devices and operating-system versions. Your quote records the agreed journeys, interaction states and sampling, so you know exactly what is covered.
We test to WCAG 2.2 AAA or your prefered complaince standard, applying relevant criteria to native, hybrid and embedded web content. Our focus is manual testing using VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android, supported by appropriate checks. We assess labels, focus, gestures, touch targets, text resizing, contrast and error recovery through the journeys in scope.
We agree any additional input methods, accessibility settings, devices and operating-system versions before testing.
Depending on your organisation services and markets, we can test against requirements including:
We present the findings, explain priorities and answer questions so your product and development teams can plan the next steps.
Understand the main barriers, affected journeys and priorities, with a clear record of the builds, platforms and coverage assessed.
Give developers the affected screen, platform, build, reproduction steps, evidence, user impact, relevant criteria and recommendations for each finding.
Submit fixes to audited issues for retesting during the three months from report presentation, with results to help close findings.
Every audit quote includes three months of Nexus Inclusion Pro access and retesting of your fixes to audited issues.
This three-month period starts when we present your report. We test revised app builds against the audited issues and explain whether the fixes resolve them.
Nexus Inclusion Pro supports your wider website and content accessibility work. If you continue afterwards, we offer a discount on all 12-month plans.

Your quote reflects the journeys, app complexity, platforms, builds and testing environments in scope. Tell us your priorities and release deadline; we can help define useful coverage. Every quote includes three months of Nexus Inclusion Pro and retesting of fixes to audited issues, starting at report presentation.
We scope iOS and Android testing separately, including the devices, operating-system versions, builds and assistive technologies. Tell us whether your app is native, hybrid or includes embedded web content so we can confirm the approach. Testing one platform does not establish the accessibility of the other.
We assess agreed journeys and interaction states, including navigation, labels, focus, gestures, touch targets, text resizing, contrast and error recovery. Screen-reader testing uses VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android as relevant. Keyboard, switch and voice-input coverage can be agreed during scoping. Automated checks support the manual assessment; they cannot establish that every journey works.
Yes, unless otherwise agreed. We assess applicable A, AA and AAA criteria in the context of your app’s native, hybrid and embedded web content, recording failures and non-applicable criteria. We also agree relevant software requirements and platform guidance. The testing target is not a guarantee of AAA conformance or legal compliance.
We can scope US ADA and Section 508 requirements, Canadian federal and provincial obligations, Irish and EU requirements including relevant EN 301 549 provisions, and UK accessibility legislation. Applicability depends on your organisation and service. Other jurisdictions can be considered when scoping.
Yes, subject to an agreed build being ready for testing. We arrange build access, test accounts, permissions and suitable test data before starting. You do not need a public app store link to request a quote. Describe your app and release plans; we will agree the access method and audit schedule.
We record the build under assessment so findings remain reproducible. If you release an update, we discuss the changes and their effect on coverage and timing. Retesting fixes to audited issues is included during your support period; new features or a wider regression assessment may need a revised scope.
The audit provides findings and recommendations for your developers. Code changes are not included unless expressly agreed in your quote. Our team can retest the audited issues you fix during the included three months and report whether they are resolved. We agree the revised builds and submission process with you.
Nexus Inclusion Pro access and fix retesting run together for three months from report presentation. Submit revised builds through the agreed process so we can verify corrections to audited issues. Pro supports your wider website and content accessibility work. After the included access, we offer a discount on all 12-month plans.
Yes. Accessibility statement writing is an optional addition. We agree the scope, intended audience and requirements, then describe the assessed app, known limitations and ways to request help or give feedback. A statement should reflect the evidence and be kept current as the app changes.
Tell us about your app, its platforms and your priorities. We will help define the scope and provide a tailored audit quote.
