Website Accessibility Audit Services

Find accessibility barriers with a manual website audit and practical guidance on what to fix. Every audit includes three months of Nexus Inclusion Pro and retesting after your fixes.

An Audit Built Around Your Website

From a single webpage to your top 10 user journeys or your full website, we tailor the audit to your needs.
We agree the pages, templates, functionality and interaction states before giving you a quote. Your quote records the agreed scope, so you know exactly what is covered. Not sure where to start?
Tell us your priorities and we will help you define the scope. We also agree your target jurisdictions and the relevant accessibility requirements.

How We Audit Your Website

We test to WCAG 2.2 AAA or your preferred compliance standard, assessing applicable A, AA and AAA criteria within your scope. Our focus is manual testing supported by automated checks covering keyboard navigation, forms, content, contrast and responsive behaviour.
We test using NVDA, JAWS and operating-system screen readers, and agree browser, device and viewport coverage. We map findings to the accessibility requirements relevant to your organisation and jurisdictions, then present them clearly for technical and non-technical teams.

Accessibility Testing Across Jurisdictions

Depending on your organisation services and markets, we can test against requirements including:

  • The European Accessibility Act
  • The EU and Irish public-sector accessibility requirements
  • US ADA and Section 508 requirements
  • Canadian federal and provincial requirements, including AODA where applicable
  • UK Equality Act & Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations
  • Australia’s Disability Discrimination Act
  • Applicable New Zealand accessibility requirements
  • many more

We agree the relevant jurisdictions, software requirements and technical standards before testing, then map findings to that scope.

What Your Accessibility Audit Includes

A senior team member presents your findings, explains the recommendations and discusses priorities with your team.

Understand the main accessibility barriers and priorities, with a clear overview to help decision-makers plan the next steps.

Review issues by WCAG criterion, severity and applicable jurisdictional requirements, with evidence, user impact and practical recommendations for your team.

Submit your fixes to audited issues for retesting during the three months from report presentation, helping you close resolved findings.

Support After Your Audit

Every audit quote includes three months of Nexus Inclusion Pro access and retesting of your fixes to audited issues.
This three-month period starts when we present your report.
We retest changes against the audited issues and explain whether the fixes resolve them. Use Nexus Inclusion Pro to monitor your website while your team works through the findings. If you continue afterwards, we offer a discount on all 12-month plans.

FAQs: Website Accessibility Audits

More about scope, testing, pricing and support.

  • Your quote depends on the agreed pages, journeys, functionality and testing coverage. We can assess a single webpage, your top 10 user journeys or a fully custom scope, including your full site. Tell us your priorities and deadlines so we can recommend coverage and provide a tailored quote.

  • In general, automated checks identify some accessibility issues. The Nexus Inclusion automated checks provide a thorough list of accessibility issues and fixes, and include a checklist of items recommended for manual review, customised to your own website. A manual audit also examines how people navigate, understand content and complete tasks using keyboards and assistive technologies. We combine both approaches within the agreed scope. You can explore our website accessibility scanner for ongoing automated checks.

  • Our standard testing includes NVDA with Firefox, JAWS with Chrome, VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack with Chrome on Android. We customise the final combinations to your project and record the agreed coverage in the quote and report.

  • We agree desktop and mobile viewport sizes for your project. Where applicable, checks include 400% zoom, reflow at 320 CSS pixels, 200% text resizing and text-spacing overrides. Mobile website testing is part of the agreed web scope; native mobile applications require a separate scope.

  • We test across jurisdictions, including US ADA and Section 508 requirements, Ontario’s AODA and applicable Canadian requirements, Irish and EU requirements under the European Accessibility Act and Web Accessibility Directive, relevant EN 301 549 criteria, and UK accessibility legislation. We agree the countries, sectors and services covered, including other jurisdictions where required.

  • We test to WCAG 2.2 AAA unless otherwise agreed, covering applicable A, AA and AAA criteria within your scope. We document failures, non-applicable criteria and usability observations. Testing against AAA does not guarantee conformance or legal compliance; jurisdiction-specific requirements are assessed separately within the agreed scope.

  • Timing depends on scope, functionality and access. We agree a schedule before testing and confirm the accounts, environments and materials needed. If access problems or website changes affect the work, we discuss their impact with you.

  • The audit provides findings and recommendations for your team or development partner to implement. It includes retesting of fixes to audited issues for three months from report presentation. Implementation work is separately agreed.

  • For three months after we present your audit, you will have access to Nexus Inclusion Pro, including the retesting and monitoring tools, and support from our accessibility team. If you wish to continue ongoing accessibility monitoring, we offer a discount on all 12-month plans. Your quote sets out retesting arrangements and continuation options.

  • Yes. Accessibility statement writing is an optional addition to your audit quote. Let us know if you would like it included so we can agree the scope and information needed.
