Nexus Inclusion is set to launch its AI-powered digital accessibility and inclusion software solution. Backed by €3.5 million in private investment, the start-up aims to help businesses comply with regulations such as the European Accessibility Act (EAA), passed in 2025.

Nexus Inclusion’s platform analyses websites, content, images, video and digital media to provide practical guidance and actionable fixes to improve compliance and usability for individuals with disabilities, neurodivergent people, and people with a range of comprehension levels.

The company was founded by Kyran O’Mahoney, A vision-impaired tech entrepreneur whose career spans senior technology roles with well-known Irish brands such as Ryanair, Dunnes Stores, Vision Ireland (formerly NCBI) and AIB.

“Most digital accessibility software can scan and identify issues. The difficult part is fixing the problem,” said O’Mahoney, chief executive officer and founder of Nexus Inclusion.

“The Nexus Inclusion scan itself is very solutions-focused. The tools go into great detail on how to address barriers to digital accessibility. Everything is contextualised; the platform explains why there is a problem, which disability it affects, and how to fix it. In some cases, it literally writes the code for a development team. What we have created is a solution that democratises digital accessibility for businesses.”

The company currently employs eight people and plans to add seven roles focused on sales, technology, and accessibility.

“In my view, Nexus Inclusion is the first product to come to market that actually resolves accessibility and WCAG governance issues. Having said that, its main distinguishing feature is that it is very intuitive and easy to use. You don’t need a massive budget or a lot of technical expertise,” O’Mahoney added.

Understanding the EAA Requirements from June 2025

From June 2025, the EAA requires products and services to be accessible to people with disabilities. This includes making websites, mobile apps, e-commerce platforms, e-books, banking services, and other digital services accessible and compatible with assistive technologies.

To achieve the new European accessibility standards, organisations need to comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), particularly WCAG 2.1 at Level AA. This includes fixing problems with missing alternative text, poor colour contrast, keyboard accessibility, unclear navigation, and inaccessible forms and content.

To fully understand who needs to comply with the EAA, what the requirements are, and how to achieve compliance, we highly recommend reading our European Accessibility Act Compliance Guide.
